In our oil mill, of course, it is transformed with the latest generation machines both in preparation and defoliation and in washing.

The extraction is carried out with a continuous mechanical cold method.

The main product marketed by the FRANTOIO CLAPS company is the extra virgin olive oil of the Mayan variety.
CLAPS mill is located in the municipality of Missanello (PZ) and the typical variety of the area is the MAIATICA olive whose fructose content in the drupe gives the oil a sweet and unique flavor.

The MAIATICA olive is a vigorous crop and is present in some central-southern regions.
Maiatica olives harvest runs from November to December.
The oil is a medium-light fruity with a sweet taste, obtained by cold pressing with a continuous cycle system of the latest generation.

The Missanello hill is one of the areas historically suited to olive cultivation in Basilicata.
Here the olive tree covers large expanses of the arable land and the most widespread cultivar is the maiatica or majatica which has found favorable climatic conditions in the clayey soils of this part of the Agri valley as in the entire area of Matera.
