DEMETRA farm with adjoining B&B – Bed & Breakfast is located just a few steps from the famous Padula Certosa (Charterhouse). Charterhouse that not everyone knows, but which is one of the most beautiful in Italy, as well as rich in history: in the past the Carthusians have deeply affected the local peasant culture.

The farm and B&B is located in Vascella Street in the Padula municipality, province of Salerno.

Gemma is the youngest and inherited the whole family tradition.

She is the owner of this small and welcoming farm (B & B) with a vice for quality… and for respect for the environment and for the peasant and Carthusian traditions that are handed down from generation to generation.

Gemma is a young artisan who strongly believes in traditions, but with the addition of a pinch of creativity to her specialties, which never hurts.

The preserves and jams are produced with raw materials grown within the farm following the ancient grandmother recipes (even if a little revisited).

DEMETRA farm, and the connected B&B, is really very small and for this reason “it is committed to attention to detail, guaranteeing excellent quality” both in the products and in the welcome service.

It is all naturally cured without adding any preservatives.
We must therefore keep in mind that when the product is finished we must wait for the next production of its km0 (Zero miles) garden.

Her products are renowned in the area but also to tourists who are lucky enough to meet her small and welcoming B & B.
Its pickles are excellent, such as courgettes or aubergines or, together with peppers, the beautiful coupled Aubergines and peppers. Jams and marmalades such as citrus or lemon jams are very good.
But excellence is achieved with its compotes which are also very varied such as that with black cherries, apples and lemon or the classic figs.
Not to mention the one with green walnuts or tomatoes. Then you can also go spicy with chilli compotes but also with the paired chilli and onions.

But not only the welcome in the B&B with its super cozy rooms finished in the smallest details.
We can say finished and welcoming in a meticulous way.
To refer precisely to the place to the Carthusians and the Certosa who have given a notable imprint to the peasant mentality of the place and to Gemma herself.
The rooms are treated in detail both as furniture but also as linen and small things.
His breakfasts are excellent with all local products always at Km0 (Zero miles) starting with milk and ending with strictly home-made biscuits or by excellent and Carthusian pastry chefs from Padula.
But the most important thing is the atmosphere you experience.
An atmosphere of peace that only these places in the south give.
This atmosphere is perceived as soon as you arrive when you see the farm and the B&B right next to the great Charterhouse of Padula, a place of worship and peace.
